3.1.2.1. 1 Timothy 3:1–7 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.
3.1.2.2. Titus 1:5–9 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you—if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
3.1.2.3. 1 Timothy 5:19–22 Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses. As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. In the presence of God and of Christ Yeshua and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.
3.1.2.4. 1 Peter 5:1–3 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.

For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem. For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the nations have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.
3.1.5.1.1. Acts 11:27–30 Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 3.1.5.2. 1 Thessalonians 4:10–12 aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
3.1.5.2.1. Ephesians 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.
3.1.5.2.2. 2 Thessalonians 3:6–12 Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Yeshua Messiah, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate. For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Yeshua Messiah to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.
3.1.5.3. Acts 6:1–6 ...widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said,... brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty... These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them.
3.1.5.3.1. 1 Timothy 3:8–13 Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well.
3.1.5.3.2. 1 Timothy 5:9–11 Let a widow be enrolled if she is not less than sixty years of age, having been the wife of one husband, and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought up children, has shown hospitality, has washed the feet of the saints, has cared for the afflicted, and has devoted herself to every good work. But refuse to enroll younger widows, for when their passions draw them away from Messiah, they desire to marry
3.1.5.4. Acts 4:32–35 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul... There was not a needy person among them
3.1.5.4.1. James 2:15–16 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?
4. the breaking of bread
4.1. Luke 22:19–20 ...“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
4.1.1. 1 Corinthians 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Yeshua on the night when he was betrayed took bread...
4.1.2. 1 Corinthians 5:7–8 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Messiah, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
4.1.2.1. 1 Corinthians 11:33–34 So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another—if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home—so that when you come together it will not be for judgment.
4.1.2.2. Jude 12 These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear...
4.2. Acts 2:46–47 And day by day... breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts
4.2.1. 1 Timothy 4:4–5 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.
4.2.1.1. Romans 14:1–3 As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
4.2.1.2. Romans 14:20–21 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.
4.2.2. 1 Peter 4:9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
