Past Simple

1. Examples: She went to the store this afternoon. They called the police. He came, he saw, he conquered. I lived in London for three years. She owned three dogs throughout her childhood. I never trusted what they told me.

2. Simple past tense. It is used if the event occurred at a certain time in the past and does not continue in the present. Past Simple often uses words such as ago (5 days ago – 5 days ago), last ... (last year – last year), yesterday( yesterday), in ... (in 1980 – in 1980), and so on.

3. Indicates a simple action in the past, regular or repeated actions in the past, or a list of subsequent actions in the past.
