Religion affects the lives of its followers by

1. Moral Code, with any religion a person follows, their is going to be some sort of moral code. For example it could be Christianity whether their action is right or wrong.

2. Sense of Belonging, everyone wants to belong but you must not some times, some religions help and maintain this as their main focuses. Hindusim especially with their caste system the way they run society makes sure you know where you belong.

3. Understanding of Life, understanding life in general is important but in Buddhism its strongly important too. Along with the good or bad they focus on why and how you get to places so their people can understand different aspects of Budihsm.
