1. Designers should manage a pilot of the content with a group of learners. There should also be a training for the facilitators or instructors that covers the course curriculum, method of delivery, learning outcomes, and future evaluations

2. For example, "What can inhibit learners from completing these courses successfully?" Is there new knowledge that needs to be addressed?

2.1. *Evaluation: In this important piloting stage, ask questions about remaining gaps in reaching the objectives. Have you the designer, tested the course all the way through using a different log-in? This will help replicate a student's vantage point.

3. Necessary Steps 1) Ensure the course(s) are ready to go LIVE with minimal "bugs," so the learners can complete the course fully. 2) If new technology is being used have a training for the learners on the new tech BEFORE administering the new course.

4. Analysis

4.1. *Evaluation: Use of student surveys from previous courses, instructor input in focus groups, etc. to aid in analysis stage. Additionally, ask key questions like, "Are the program/project objectives viable for the program participants?"

4.2. For example, If access to Internet services is difficult, is an online program going to really work?

4.3. Designers should agree on key details: Intended audience, project timeline, Desired behavioral outcomes, delivery options

4.4. Necessary Steps: 1) Instructional problem(s) are clarified and the goals as well as objectives are set. 2) Learners' existing knowledge and skills are identified

5. Implementation

6. Designers should test the materials selecting a small focus group to give the content some "fresh eyes"

7. Design

7.1. *Evaluation: Review the entire course content for grammar, syntax, spelling, etc. Revise according to feedback from stakeholders with questions like, "Does this match your brand/other branding materials?" or "Does this support your program's goals/mission?"

7.2. *Evaluation: Discuss the actionable items for the Design stage by asking questions about the participants and the instructors that help create practical terminal and enabling objectives.

7.2.1. For example, what will the instructors' expectations be for the courses? How will they know the learners have mastered a concept? How is mastery defined? What behaviors will be measured? What desired behaviors should be observed?

7.3. Designers should focus on: methodical and specific targets. This means explaining the narrowing their program/project objectives into terminal & enabling objectives

7.4. Necessary Steps: 1) Create a storyboard to visualize your design and get buy in from stakeholders 2) Identify and clarify the "meat" of the program/project i.e. the duration and pace, its format and mode of delivery, the process of transferring the learning methods 3) quantify the development and implementation stages (next two steps)

8. Development

8.1. Necessary Steps 1) Ensure the course content is consistent --> Make sure the graphics, colors, fonts, program logos, etc. are all agreed upon and match throughout the material
