Learning Disabilities

1. What are Learning Disabilities? Developmental issues with how the brain receives and processes learned information. This affects the ability to learn properly particularly in academic areas of numeracy and literacy which are the most common challenges for students with brain developmental issues.
2. Causes of Learning Disabilities: Although exact causes ae still being researched, the following are key factors: Slow brain/neurodevelopment, environmental and genes.
3. Supports for Students with Learning Disabilities. Supports must be individualized according to the strengths and needs of the students. These supports include IEPs, accommodations and interventions.
