3. A Vision of K-12 Students Today

4. Instructional Technology

4.1. Over a hundred years ago classrooms were one room and the biggest technology they used were blackboards.

4.2. Motion pictures and slide projectors were thought to replace textbooks eventually.

4.3. In the 1940s and 1950s people were skeptical that computers could ever really be used for anything.

4.4. By the 1980s and 1990s computer use had grown and in the 2000s it exploded.

5. Shift Happens

5.1. China will soon be the #1 speaking English country.

5.2. 1 in 4 workers have been working for their company for less than a year.

5.3. The U.S. government spends less money on education than Nintendo does on research and development.

5.4. There are five times more English words today than in Shakespearean times.
