1. H.O.T Questions
1.1. Opening Questions
1.1.1. What do you think the story will be about by looking at the cover?
1.1.2. Have you ever been on a family trip?
1.2. Guiding Questions
1.2.1. Who are the they going to visit?
1.2.2. What did you notice about the family on this page?
1.3. Closing Questions
1.3.1. What self-connections did you make while reading this book?
1.3.2. Can you only go on family vacations by car? Why or why not?
2. Formative
2.1. A formative assessment occurs during the learning process. This allows opportunities to provide feedback to students. Examples: turn and talks, exit tickets, quiz, etc
3. Summative
3.1. A summative assessment is occurs at the end of the learning process. This determines how well the student is familiar with the content. Examples: research projects, finals, etc.
4. Interim/Benchmark
4.1. Interim Assessments occur periodically throughout the school year. Examples: MAP testing, Unit Test, etc.
5. Performance
5.1. Performance Assessments occurs when the student is able to produce what they have learned through open-ended tasks. Examples: Essays, Projects
6. Diagnostic
6.1. Diagnostic Assessments occur to measure the students current knowledge to better assist them with new learning. Example: Running records, Pre-Assessments, Surveys, etc.
