Friendship

Jesus is our friend and perfect example

John 15:12-15

We are his friends because he has chosen to disclose everything to us, During Jesus' most difficult time; servants fell asleep..., That is grace, He has patience like a good mentor

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Friendship starts with Commonality

True friendship is developed around mutual passions

There must be something more to the relationship than the relationship. Otherwise change will pull friends in different directions

Not based on pleasure or utility

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
