2.1. the main character of the book, a child prodigy when it comes to tactical thinking and combat

2.1.1. his relationship with his older sister, Valentine, is extremely strong. I think she fills in the gap that Ender didn't have in terms of parents

2.1.2. Ender's relationship with his older brother isn't that great to start with, but eventually he starts to love his older brother as he becomes the mayor of earth

3. Sympathy

3.1. I thought it was pretty interesting that we at first the alien threat was evil, but in the end, when we kill them, they end up being a very sympathetic character (alien queen)
