1.3. Find 2 examples of each. Think inside & outside of school. (Home, outdoors, parks, stores, etc.)
1.4. Measure each base, measure each height, & calculate the area for each example you have written down.
1.5. Be ready to share your findings with the class! I will be picking up a printed copy of your mind map at the end of class.
2. Squares
2.1. Example 1: A small garden space has a base of 4 feet and a height of 4 feet. What is the area for the garden? (A = bh) (4 x 4 = 16 square feet)
2.2. 1.
2.3. 2.
3. Rectangles
3.1. Example 2: A deck rug measured 5 feet by 8 feet. What is the area of the rug? (A = bh) (5 x 8 = 40 sqaure feet)
