Input and Output Devices by Mind Map: Input and Output Devices

1. An example of output device would be a printer whether it be laser, ink-jet, or part of a multifunctional device. Printers are great for printing out assignments, reading materials, research, etc. However, the printing out of unnecessary documents can lead to waste of paper and time can have a negative impact on the environment. In addition, it's important that teachers are monitoring printers for misuse. Computers and printers should be utilized for educational purposes, not personal.

2. Output Devices: Output devices or those devices that move information out of a computer (Lever-Duffy & McDonald, 2011, p. 119).

3. An example of an input device would be a mouse which is used for navigation. A mouse makes it easy to maneuver around on your computer especially when going from one screen to another, or one application to another. A standard mouse is equipped with a cord and is plugged into a computer or laptop. A wireless mouse is also an available option. One thing to consider with diverse learners is the size of the mouse. Typically a mouse is pretty small and requires clicking to be effective. Some students for example, one with cerebral palsy might have a difficult time grasping a mouse. In this situation, there should be in alternative in place.

4. Input Devices: Input devices consist of any components that are utilized to enter data into a computer.
