Skills Employers Want by Mind Map: Skills Employers Want

1. Experience

1.1. Experience, while not necessary but worthwhile to have can help give the employer an insight into what the employee is capable of. The employer can then decide whether or not he/her wants to employ the person who applied is recruited or not.

2. Communication Skills

2.1. Communication Skills will be important to the employer because if the employee cannot communicate with his/her co-workers then it will be hard to make sure they are doing the work correctly as they won't be able to understand their co-workers explaining how to do the task correctly.

3. Trustworthy

3.1. This will be one of the most important traits of an employee because if the employer isn't able to trust their employee, then they will most likely fire him/her. This is then bad for both parties as the employer will be a staff member down and the employee will be out of a job.

4. Personal Attributes

5. Responsibility

5.1. Responsibility is a good skill to have because if an employee can be trusted it will mean the boss can rely on him/her to carry out his/her job without being under supervision. It is also beneficial to the employee aswell, this is because the boss may entrust certain jobs to that specific employee that he wouldn't entrust to other employees the specific may also get benefits such as extra time off or money added to their salary.

6. Reliability

6.1. Reliability is a good trait to have as it will increase the bosses respect for that employee. This may result in promotion, increase in salary or the ability to take more hours is wanted. It also will mean that if the boss can rely on you to do certain tasks such as cover a co-workers shift e.t.c. then he will more likely promote that employee.
