1. Stage 1: Basic Skills
1.1. Life and Career Skills: Primary focus of a Special Education classroom teacher. Basic skills for successful independent living are stressed. Technology is used primarily by the teacher for classroom and lesson management.
2. Stage 2: Basic Technology Interaction
2.1. Learning and Innovation Skills: Technology is used to encourage student interaction. Problem solving skills are encouraged through use of tools.
2.2. Information, Media and Technology Skills: Application of technology to real life skills is emphasized.
3. Stage 3: Creation, Communication, Collaboration
3.1. Learning and Innovation Skills: Students are encouraged to communicate through the use of technology. Collaboration is stressed as is the need for diverse partnerships.
3.2. Information, Media and Technology Skills: Advanced use of tools is developed to support independent life skills. Tools are developed to specifically address independence.
