
1. Dress for the part
1.1. Wear casual clothing using the color guidelines.
1.1.1. Wear shirts that are neutral color (cream, white, gray, brown) or black.
1.1.2. Wear black pants, skirts and dresses.
1.1.3. Wear black blazers or sweaters over shirts & dresses.
1.2. Wear closed-toed black shoes.
2. Adapt to the type of bride you have in front of you
2.1. If it's the bride's first time shopping for a dress, start by explaining the process.
2.1.1. Asnswer any initial questions she may have.
2.2. If it's not her first time, ask the bride why she thinks she has not found her dress.
2.2.1. Ask about her experience at other bridal salon(s).
2.3. If the bride is analytical or an overthinker, tell her that finiding her dress is a decision made from the heart.
2.3.1. Tell her that the most important thing is how she feels in the dress.
2.3.2. Let her know that not all brides have the same reaction when they've found their dress.
2.3.3. Let her know that some brides get emotional when they thought they wouldn't and some don't get emotional at all.
2.4. Have a one-on-one conversation with the bride If a situation occurs causing her to be emotional.
2.4.1. Take the bride to a private area if you are not alone.
2.4.2. Resolve all concerns with the bride.
2.4.3. Resolve all concerns with the family/entourage if necessary.
3. Listen to the bride
3.1. Pre-consult with your bride by sending the Dream Dress Questionnaire.
3.2. Start the appointment by asking about the wedding.
3.2.1. Ask about the date.
3.2.2. Ask about the venue.
3.2.3. Ask about the theme or vibe of the wedding.
3.3. Give the bride a summary of what she's looking for based on what she said on the questionnaire answers.
3.3.1. Ask the bride whether you've got a clear picture of what she's looking for.
3.4. Ask more questions during the appointment to fully understand what the bride is looking for in a dress.
3.4.1. Listen to and record her answers.
3.4.2. Use this information as you search for her dress.
4. Give full attention to the bride
4.1. Make eye contact with the bride when she speaks.
4.2. Place your cell phone on do not disturb or turn off all notifications.
4.3. Don't step away unless you are searching for a dress or until the bride has a final favorite ("the one").
4.3.1. If you need to use the rest room call a manager replace you.
4.3.2. If an emergency comes up and you must leave, call a manager replace you.
4.4. Respond to all of the bride's questions and concerns.
5. Manage time effectively
5.1. Don't book apointments back to back.
5.2. Send pre-consultation Dream Dress Questionnaire to the bride at least 48 hrs before the appointment.
5.3. Pull a few dresses the bride might like bassed on the info in the Dream Dress Questionnaire.
5.3.1. Have them ready when she comes in to the appointment.
