1. LEDC: A country where resources are a scarcity and are very hard to get. Healthcare is not easily available causing a high infant mortality rate, a lower life expectancy and more spread of disease. The GDP is low and there is a higher rural population.
1.1. Examples: Burundi, Togo, Syria, CAR
2. NIC: Newly industrialized country - A country undergoing rapid growth in terms of technology, urbanization and economy.
2.1. Examples: BRIICS
3. MEDC: Generally a country with a higher HDI. Resources are quite easily accessible and there is a high GDP.
3.1. Examples: USA, Qatar, Luxemborg, Monaco, Singapore
