5. Based on the KSDE Career and Cluster Guidance Handbook 2025-2026 edition, Intro. to Trades is utilized all 4 clusters, in 6 of the 8 pathways, and in 13 of the 15 strands. It is my opinion that this course can still can be utilized in the the Energy and Engineering and Applied Mathematics pathways because of overlapping content, however, it is not an official prerequisite for those pathways. Addtionally, I would suggest that students who take it would be able to still explore those pathways if they so choose. This is possible if we still offer intro to engineering at the middle school level.
