Leadership, Pro's and Con's by Mind Map: Leadership, Pro's and Con's

1. Peekay (POO character)

1.1. Use camouflage.

1.1.1. Pro's

1.1.1.1. It would stop Peekay being abused and oppressed by the Boers.

1.1.1.2. Once employing this method he could then focus on actioning a different method to achieve the outcome.

1.1.1.2.1. This does not actually solve the problem, instead it takes a step in the right direction.

1.1.2. Con's

1.1.2.1. This method does not achieve the goal or outcome. Because if only solves the problem for himself not combating the problem for an entire group of people.

1.1.2.2. This method does not fix the problem entirely. Peekay is not overcoming the oppression but instead hiding from it and changing the way he lives to avoid it becoming a problem.

1.2. ”Raise awareness of their plight and build support.”

1.2.1. Pro's

1.2.1.1. This method solves the problem. By talking with people and spreading his vision by word of mouth, people have joined and seen the possibility that they can overcome it by employing the method.

1.2.1.2. This method overcomes the problem, in a non time consuming way. Oppressed people were rallied by communicating and the supporters were convinced and active as a part of this group. This takes a short amount of time because Peekay simply had to tell people about his plan and they spread it to the other potential supporters.

1.2.2. Con's

1.2.2.1. There are only minor negatives to this strategy, it is the most likely to work because it has so few negatives.

2. Kate Sheppard

2.1. Talk to government officials and go straight to politics.

2.1.1. Pro's

2.1.1.1. She would have been able to persuade the government official such as the PM.

2.1.2. Con's

2.1.2.1. She may not have been able to get to the capital and voice her opinion to the leaders there.

2.1.2.1.1. This would result in the failure of her plans.

2.1.2.2. If the government agreed to hold a referendum it would most likely not be as successful as other options because they would not have a larger following of supporters.

2.2. ”Raise awareness of their plight and build support.”

2.2.1. Pro's

2.2.1.1. This method was likely to work because it enabled Kate to be with the people she was persuading to join. When someone who is as passionate as Kate is given the chance to talk or persuade someone to join them it almost always works because of the strong opinion and dedication that they have.

2.2.1.2. I doesn't need to affect a large group of people / it doesn't need to have allot of supporters to be successful. This is because if they can gather a group that is at least enough to encourage a further movement then they can have more time to continue the movement, and hopefully begin the "Snowball effect".

2.2.2. Con's

2.2.2.1. This method takes time to achieve the final outcome and solve the problem. Although this is a barrier it is canceled out because the supporters that have been encouraged and gathered are active and sold on the image Kate had.
