Victor's Family

1. Victor's family shows immediate emotion towards their perception of society through patience, love, and benevolence. By starting a family, the parents have to learn great patience to handle their children. All children take patience to take care over; Victor was no exception. He states that he can not be around many or he will lose his temper. He said that "It was my temper to avoid a crowd and to attach myself fervently to a few." (Shelley) So, his parent chose to help the situation by moving out to Belrive, to live in conclusion. This was a lifestyle change for the family to benefit the family as a whole. As parents become accustomed to the roles of parenthood, most feel the need to expand. Victor's mother openly wanted a daughter. Victor remained an only child for five years. "Much as they were attached to each other, they seemed to draw inexhaustible stores of affection from a very mine of love to bestow them upon me." (Shelley) His parents adopted Elizabeth out of poverty to give the beautiful girl a loving lifestyle. Victor is very complimentary towards his family describing all of them as loving and compassionate towards each other. He was delighted to be proud about his lifestyle. Claiming that "No human being could have passed a happier childhood than myself. My parents were possessed by the very spirit of kindness and indulgence." (Shelley) Victor is grateful for the memories of his childhood and enjoys thinking of his childhood he had with his family.
