DECIDE by Mind Map: DECIDE

1. A person who you have known for a long time offers to help you get a fake ID so you can get into a bar and drink. What do you do?

2. Simply say no.

3. Tell him/her the consequences of drinking underage, and refuse in a nice way, not a fight provoking way.

4. Refuse, and use an excuse not to drink. For example, if you are underage and somebody tries to offer you a drink, tell them you're the designated driver for your group.

5. Positive Solutions

6. Consequences : In the positive solutions, all of them would help to solve the issue without hurting the persons feeling. In all of the negative solutions, you're response is likely to provoke a fight, or to provoke negative feelings.

7. Keep you're personal morals in the back of your mind. If you value honesty and faith towards your religion, then you might be one to choose a more positive solution. If you don't value a lot of things, or don't value the laws, then you may choose a more negative solution.

8. Positive solutions tend to get you to the place in the situation that you want to be. This helps you solve the problem the way you want, without hurting anybody else in the process or overcomplicating the problem.

9. My Personal Choice : If I had to choose from any of these solutions, I would choose to simply say no. I like this response because it's simple. There's not much to it. Simply saying no is a firm, but not harsh way of telling them that you don't approve o what they are asking you without hurting their feelings.

10. Negative Solutions

11. Tell her to back off.

12. Email her instead of talking to her face to face and tell her that you don't want to be friends.

13. Punch that person in the face and refuse harshly.

14. In general, the negative solutions have a lesser chance of having an effect on the situation in the way you want it to.
