5.2. Jess's parents died in a car accident, and would now have to live with his grandparents. He cried and went to the funeral. He let himself grieve, but when it came time to go back to school, he smiled and had as much fun as he could with his friends.

His older brother started getting in trouble, his grades started dropping, he was doing drugs, he was arrested a few times. Jason's brother turned 18 and went to jail. Jason, loving his brother very much, wasnt happy. He missed a couple days of school, his grades dropped a little. But he started coming back and got his grades up and moved on with his life.

6. Jane gets home from school and her parents are having a serious discussion around the kitchen table. They tell her they have been unable to make their house payment for several months and will need to move to a different community.

6.1. If Jane was resilient, she would take the time to slowly process this information. Giving herself the time to adjust. She would cry when she tells her friends, and when she leaves, and maybe when she first receives the news. And then she would try to stay on the positive side and think of ways to communicate with her friends and such.

6.2. If Jane was not resilient, she would start crying immediately, becoming a puddle, letting her emotions get the best of her. She would probably feel angry and not want to reason with her parents. And then when she starts school her grades drop and shes hanging out with the wrong people.
