Natural Hazards

1. Definition

1.1. A natural hazard is a possibility of a natural event that causes harm to humans – or to other things that we care about, though usually the focus is on humans (which, we might note, is anthropocentric). The hazard is distinguished from an extreme event and a disaster.

2.1. Natural hazards happen in certain locations like volcanos happen on the magnetic plates, earthquakes happen mostly on the coast.
