Innovative Differention Teaching Strategies. Pre-Assessment- A quiz that outline key facts, details and themes in the book Into The Wild

1. 5 students who answered most, including the most difficult, of the pre-assessment questions
2. Students will have to watch YouTube videos of Jon Krakuer explaining Into the Wild. There is a great 20/20 special on Chris McCandless explaining what the book is about. The teachr will also work more closely to this group going over a timeline of the book, and its significance. .
3. I will have these students work as a small group reading character descriptons of the different characters of the text. They will also listen to quotes from the characters, and self reflect the significanceof the quoes.
4. Objectives
4.1. Students will be broken into an Advanced group where they will need to analyze quotes within the first chapter of the text, and suggest what they think the significance of these quotes mean . The group will work together. They will also analyze Jon Krakuaer's initial magazine article

6. 5 students who appear to have limited knowledge about the topic
7. 12 students who have some knowledge about the topic as shown in their score, but need to develop higher order thinking skills
