1. The Romans Believed in ruling by law. The Emperor was the main source of law.Senators had meetings and were thought highly of. Anyone could accuse someone else of a crime

3.1. Romans adopted many Greek gods. They had many temples that they used for sacrifices. They had " holy Days" to celebrate the gods. Later Romans adopted the idea of considering their emperors as gods.

4.1. In Rome they had paterfamilias, which were the father of the house. The word of the father in the house was the law for that house. The men had to provide for the family . But wealthy women could rule their house. They did this by buying slaves and selling property.

5.1. Poor kids went to work instead of school to provide money for there family. Wealthier people had there kids taught by slaves or the father, till they were six. They had to get up very early to go to school.

6.1. Rome was a scattered city. The rich owned estates in the country called Villas. Most people that lived in the country were not slaves. The slaves that people had were made to do most of the hard work.

8.1. Many people lived in ancient Rome. Rome had beautiful temples and lovely gardens, but most people lived in small apartments. Rich people shopped every day, goods flow in all the time. To keep the poor from starting a uprising the rich gave food and goods to them.

9.1. What you ate depends on if you were rich or poor. Thermopylae was a place where you could go and get food, just like take out. Some of the main foods in Rome were bread, beans, and rice. Romans had marketplaces where they could by goods for their house and family.

10.1. Wealthy people lived in grand houses with marble floors. There is a big room called the atrium. The poor lived in small cramped apartments. The apartments were very noisy and dirty.

11.1. The rich enjoyed theater and plays. But both rich and poor went to the public baths. Another thing they did was got to the coliseum and watch gladiators. Circus maximums was a favorite place to go, it was a race track that could fit 200,000 people.
