1. Zoo-Phonics

1.1. What is Zoo Phonics?

1.1.1. Multisensory Language Arts Program is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development and articulation, based on phonics and phonemic awareness.

1.1.2. Zoo Phonics is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers using a “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinesthetic” (moving), and tactile (touching)—whole brain approach. Students actually learn the sounds of the alphabet and advanced phonemic concepts through an easily understood, concrete method of presentation.

1.1.3. The curriculum is age-appropriate, developmental, sequential and playful.

1.1.3.1. It is fully kinesthetic and multi-sensorial—children use their eyes, ears, mouths and bodies to learn.

1.1.3.2. Preschool children will begin sound blending, spelling, and writing by mid-year or earlier.

3. Description

3.1. Use this map as a one year overview of your subject's curriculum.

3.2. Note the topics you want to cover and the educational goals of each semester

3.3. Add exam dates and materials

3.4. Add dates and links to excursions and projects you are planning

3.5. You can share this map with your students to provide them with an overview of the class

3.6. Link the topic overview with a second mind map, where you give a more detailed outline of the contents. You can then turn that map into a presentation to visually aid your lectures
