1. Present Perfect Continous

1.1. have/has+been+Ving It has been raining.

1.2. It has not (hasn't) been raining.

1.4. Usage

1.4.1. We use the present perfect continous for an activity that has recently stopped or just stopped. There is a connection with now.

1.4.1.1. Paul is very tired. He has been working hard. - He is tried now.

1.4.2. How long has it been raining? It has been raining for 2 hours.

1.4.2.1. It began raining 2 hour ago and it is still raining.

1.4.2.2. We use the present perfect continuous this way especially with how long, for, since. The activity is still happening or has just stopped.

1.4.3. You can use the present perfect continuous for actions repeated over a period of time.

1.4.3.1. Silvia is a very good tennis player. She's been playing since she was 8.

2. Present Perfect Simple

2.1. have/has + past participle He has lost his key.

2.1.1. The past participle often ends in -ed (finished/decided) but many important words are irregular (lost,gone made)

2.2. He has not (hasn't) lost his key.

2.3. Has he lost his key?

2.4. Usage

2.4.1. When we say something 'has happened', it is a new information.

2.4.1.1. 'Ow, I've cut my finger!

2.4.2. When we use the present perfect, there is a connection with now.

2.4.2.1. Where is your key? I don't know. I've lost it. (I don't have it now.)

2.4.3. Not the difference bw gone (to) and been (to)

2.4.3.1. Jamie is on Holiday. He has gone to Italy. - He is there now or on his way.

2.4.3.2. Jane is back home now. She's been to Italy. - She has now come back.

2.4.4. You can use the present perfect with just, already and yet.

2.4.4.1. Are you hungry? I've just had lunch.

2.4.4.2. What time is Mark leaving? He has already left.

2.4.4.3. Has it stopped raining yet?
