1. Sound

1.1. Keeping the sound (in production and post-production) between -6 and -30.

1.2. Recording some 'empty sound' of the area we're shooting in, so that if there is a undertone sound behind the dialogue, this understand can be added into the rest of the scene via a recording of 'empty sound'. I didn't include this in my preliminary task, so the sound is unsettled/uneven.

2. Editing

2.1. Ensure that colour correction suits the tone and genre conventions of the film. Having the cinematic style correct adds to the professionalism of the film. In my preliminary task, although I edited (alongside my group) the footage into 'natural colour grading', it was a little too saturated, and warm in colour in relation to the narrative and tone of the scene.

2.2. I didn't add any transitions or titles into my preliminary task, which are important to include in my final product, to show I am not on an amateur level, also add to the viewing experience for the audience.

3. Mise en scene

3.1. Obviously, in my preliminary task I did not use any costume or props, which is a key element in a film, to portray the narrative and characters fully to the audience. Without these aspects the piece would look weak, luckily the scene that I previously chose for my preliminary task did not need any specialist costumes or props, but I do need to ensure I have these aspects organised for my final product.

3.2. Lighting it key, in my preliminary task, we were fortunate to have the sunlight, but in my final piece I will need to adjust the natural light to reach the key focal points of the shot (usually face), also choosing an alternative to fluorescent lighting in indoor scenes- to get the best looking footage possible, fluorescent lights make a shot look weak, in comparison to using a direct, stage light.

4. Camera shots, angles, movement

4.1. Still following through with the key elements that must be used when filming, for example: 180 degree rule- this is important to keep right, to fully engage the audience, and make the footage look as professional as possible.

4.2. In comparison to my preliminary task, I have experimented and explored a lot more complex and interesting shots to include within my media film. As in the preliminary task there was just static, over-the-shoulder shots used, where as I have been testing shots with movement, high/low angles, generating shots via use of the slider, a dolly zoom was explored- movement of the camera, at the same time as zoom.
