TECHNOLOGY by Mind Map: TECHNOLOGY

1. personal description: what technology meant to me before.

1.1. Technology meant to me that something that is made by humans for their own use or comfort and to make their lives easy, like mobiles, laptops, television, internet, robots, cars, etc. in other words technology was only meant to me only around gadgets or sources that we use for our comfort. means of transportation, communication, industry, all comes under technology. human life is developing just because of certain day by day inventions. if no inventions will be done and no technology will came in hands of human we will never progress. but till now if we see, from early age humans did a large development in technology.

4. what i think now

4.1. after reading this module i think explaining the word technology in words is a bit difficult. technology is something that we use almost everyday or it is possible to say every-time or every minute of our life. it is not only limited up to our gadgets likes mobile phones or laptops, it is something that man invented, even in early ages man invented fire, so fire can also be seen in terms of technology.

4.2. technology as hardware

4.2.1. this is the basic level that most of us mean when we use the word “technology.” As a piece of hardware (or an “artifact” for the anthropologist or “cultural good” for the sociologist), “technology” could be a clock, a shovel, a laptop, a belt, a thermometer, a can of root beer, a canteen, a tank, or a fake duck decoy. These are basically things do not occur “naturally” – which, for theists, are things God himself did not make.

4.3. technology as manufacturing

4.3.1. Technology as manufacturing includes not just about the vat holding the molten steel for our next car or the robot putting together our next computer, but also the entire process (or “sociotechnical system,” as the philosophers say) from the people running the machines to the electrical grid powering the plant to the legislation passed that regulates the industry.

4.4. technology is a wonderful, amazing, always-changing bags of tricks that help the human being to live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives (although these could take place the other way around). To a scientist, technology is the end product of one's research; to an engineer, it is a tool or process that can be employed to build better products or solve technical problems; to an attorney, it is intellectual property to be protected and guarded; to a business executive, it may be the most important, yet least understood company asset. Technology is viewed as competitive advantage against rivals. Technology means state power to both developing and developed countries. It is regarded as a strategic instrument in achieving economic targets and creating wealth and prosperity in developing countries, as well as an important vehicle to make larger profits in developed countries. Developing and Implementing Effective Licensing Programme, Megantz (2002)

4.5. According to Dean and LeMaster (1995), technology is defined as “firm-specific information concerning characteristics and performance properties of production processes and product design”.

4.6. Contractor and Sagafi-Nejad (1981) describe technology simply as “a bundle of information, rights and services”

4.7. Maskus (2004) defines technology as “the information necessary to achieve a certain production outcome from a particular mean of combining or processing selected inputs”.

5. conclusion

5.1. in a nutshell, technology can be defined in a number of ways, whomever person stay in contact with whichever type of technology, they describe it accordingly. in my opinion technology means inventing new thing for betterment of future.

6. my creative aspect

6.1. i created a mindmap for my discussion one post as guided n the instructions for doing something creative. i never used to make a mindmap before. i had great fun doing it and also i learnt lots of new things. its a amazing thing for presentations or plannings. i found it very creative to put all your aspects in one place in such a nice way.

6.1.1. this is a video tutorial for guidance how to make a mind map.
