Input/output devices by Mind Map: Input/output devices

1. Example-Touch pad, touch pads are small pads that are sensitive to touch that allows a user to control the cursor on the screen.

2. The benefit to a touch pad is the abilty to control the cursor for the laptop and keep everything on the on one unit. The disadvantage to touch pads are the sensitivity with some and the fine motor skills needed to operate that pad. Touch pads are useful in schools because it allows students to work the computers without needing another device such as an external mouse which would be another thing to keep track of and not break.

3. Input devices- any device that allows user to enter data and commands.

4. Output device-any device that moves information out of the computer to make it accessible to the user.

5. Example-printers, printers are devices that allow a person to put information, text and/or pictures on paper or fabric with ink.

6. The benefit for using a printer is that you can take what was once simply on a screen, or what we call soft copy and make it so we can hold it, or hard copy. Some disadvantages are the use of paper, ink and money. printers need to be maintained and can often be costly. One way to use it in education is by printing creations to send home to parents. We live in a time where we can share more and more online but sometime you still want something to hold. Printers also allow me to get worksheets found online off the computer and ready for copying.
