1. How?

1.1. Social Inclusion

1.1.1. To provide social inclusion the children will work in activities that promote cooperative learning structures such as Think Pair Share, Bilingual Frayer Chart, and Jigsaw.

1.2. Understanding

1.2.1. To scaffold their understanding the key vocabulary will be defined, labeled and supported with visual aid.

1.3. Mutual Respect

1.3.1. All of the classroom surrounding will have visuals that reflect the ethnicity in the classroom. They would also learn about different cultures through context for example: How is this done in your country? Which holidays do you celebrate? What is the national sport?

2. Where?

2.1. These activities will take place in the classroom or outside the classroom depending on the topic in order to create meaningful experiences.

3. When?

3.1. During the school year, in all subjects, it is important for the students to have enough activities in which they can relate and create a sense of solidarity among them in which they feel comfortable sharing their ideas and working together.

4. Who?

4.1. The teacher and the students will be engaged in working together.

5. Why?

5.1. This steps are important because ELL students have different cultures and different learning styles. If we are aware of their differences and take advantage of them, we will make their stressful transition smoother and help them be engaged and interested in our class.

6. What?

6.1. Is a plan for ELL students in regular classrooms. This will help students learn the language in context in order for them to achieve academic proficiency in the English language.
