Past Continuous

1. The past continuous is used for actions that occurred at a specific time in the past. As the present continuous, it is formed with the auxiliary verb "to be" and the gerund.
2. Form:
2.1. To be continued past the auxiliary verb "to be" and the gerund (infinitive + "-ing") of the verb is used. The auxiliary verb "to be" is in the simple past, but keep in mind that "to be" is an irregular verb.
3. Structure:
3.1. Affirmative
3.1.1. I was talking.
3.2. Negative
3.2.1. I was not [wasn’t] talking.
3.3. Interrogative
3.3.1. Were you talking?
