1.2.1. Slaves were state owned and worked for the state. Silk production was well-known by the Shang people.

2.1.1. upper class included nobles and priests and government officials and warriors middle class was merchants and and traders. and then there were slaves
2.2. Shang/Zhou
2.2.1. People of the Shang society were classified into four groups; the king and aristocracy, the military, artisans and craftsmen, and peasants. The Zhou society had a social hierarchy.

3.1.1. Sumeria climate was hot. sediment and silt became very fertile. it is surrounded by two rivers that flooded frequently.
3.2. Shang/Zhou
3.2.1. All farming lands were owned by the nobles of the society. There was often a surplus of food, such as rice.

4.1.1. Sumerians worship nature; wind, water, and sun. They believed that they were put on earth to serve their gods

4.2.1. shang king saw the universe with real ghost and spirits of good and evill. They believed heavenly spirits and human ancestors were three realms deities.

5.1.1. Sumerians made statues and wrote on clay tablets using a reed stick.
5.2. Shang/Zhou
5.2.1. Jade and Bronze were commonly used in works of art. Schools were built; Education was thought to be very important for children.

6.1.1. They started city-states first. They all had a common place of worship a building called zigurat.
6.2. Shang/Zhou
6.2.1. Zhou: 'Mandate of Heaven'- The Gods gave the leaders authority, and could take it away.
