Our Changing Earth

1. Pangaea
1.1. Pangaea is Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North America, and South America.
1.2. Pangaea is on the Earth's crust, it is all the continents combined before they split.
1.3. Pangaea broke into small pieces with formed our continents.
2. Plates
2.1. (Not food plates)
2.2. Definition: The cracks that divide Earth's surface into parts.
2.3. Plates move all the time.
3. Earth changes all the time
3.1. The continents were not always in the same place.
3.2. Crumbled edges of plates shaped mountains.
4. Inside of the Earth
4.1. The first layer is outer layer of Earth which is called the crust.
4.1.1. This includes water and land which all animals live on or under.
4.2. The second layer of the Earth is the mantle.
4.2.1. Rock are hot in the mantle, it is so hot that rocks are molten or melted.
4.3. Earth's deepest layers are the inner and outer core.
4.3.1. Outer Core: Red hot metals that were probably melted into liquid lava because the outer core is made out of liquid.
4.3.2. Inner Core: Red hot metal that is completely solid. It is so hot that it is equal to how hot the surface of the sun is.
