1.1. Be careful what prompts you use! Ensure that you check student writing and report any "red flag" samples to your administrator!

2.1. Must be pre-determined by the teacher-no surfing without a purpose!

2.2. Weebly! Kahoot! Google Groups! So many resources are available to teachers and students for free!

2.3. Instant feedback-especially with online quiz generators. Extra organization for teachers as well!

3. Close Reading

3.1. Builds vocabulary and deeper understanding of literature.

3.2. Must serve a purpose-not a filler activity or assignment! No bull!

3.3. Work backwards! Create a unit goal and determine how close readings will help students reach the goals you have established for them!

4. Vocabulary

4.1. Tiers 1-3

4.2. Gradients, Flyswatter, and other activities!

4.3. Needed to improve literacy skills and build understanding-especially in close reading, journal writing, and using technology!
