1.2. Collings & Mellahi 2009: Builds on top of Lewis & Heckman and adds a fourth definition, which they identify with.

1.3. McKinsey - War for Talent 1998: Seminal article concerning the more itnese environment companies find themselves in to attract and retain top talent. Suggests a mindset change for companies, and some specific strategies too

1.4. Cappelli 2008: Advocates for TM to modernise to so it can cope with the modern, dynamic competitive environment. Lessons to be learned from Supply Chain Management (lean operations).

1.5. Tarique & Schuler 2009: Builds an integrative framework for Global Talent Management (GTM). Compares GTM to International HR Management (IHRM), providing useful insight into how the two differ. These conclusions are perfectuly applicable to TM vs. HRM (i.e. strip away the global/intl bit)

1.6. Beechler and Woodward 2009: examines the "war for talent". Issue of talent still very relevant, despite high unenployment post-financial.
