1. In what ways does your product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? by Mind Map: 1. In what ways does your product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

1. In other magazines they like to focus on the people who make the music rather than the actual music, for example their questions may be about their love life rather than the process of making their new album. I didn't like this about magazines I find it almost ironic, instead of a music magazine it turns into a gossip magazine. Therefore I decided to aim my magazine at actual music lovers and make sure it was based around music and not the people. I thought this would be interesting to see if people would still be interested in the magazine if it was just purely about music. I thought this challenged the normal conventions of a magazine.

2. Mature- My aim for this magazine was to create a mature magazine which appeals to the correct demographic, as I know this will attract a wide range of audiences that truly care about music and making it rather than just looking at the faces of those who make it.

3. Each part of my magazine is thought through and have taken advice from audiences which I intent to aim it at. This enables me to make the most effective magazine possible

4. The conventions I have used are kept simple like a normal magazine, as I said i wanted to make sure this magazine sells well and not overload it with a lot of pointless decorations which drives away the audience.

5. Individualism- I decided to create a magazine which is individual but it covers a lot of music.

6. Individualism- Making this magazine individual and open allows the reader to feel as if they have a wide range different styles to dip into and explore without sticking to one basic style and feeling as if they have to be like that. In this magazine I want the audience to feel as if it’s okay for them to be individual and themselves.

7. The simplicity of my magazine challenges the normal conventions of a magazine, as not many magazines would keep their look and aesthetic so simple, as they would want it to be eye catching; but despite this I decided to stick to a simpler look because I took the advice from others in my questionnaire, as they thought it would be better to have more content than images. I also thought this would be appropriate, as my magazine is mature and serious and aimed at those who would prefer to actually read about the stuff

8. I have tried to make a magazine similar to NME but I wanted to make a magazine which is an opening for newer and up and coming bands, for those bands that deserve recognition.

9. Like a real magazine I have kept to the normal conventions, as they make the magazine sell well; but I have also tried to make the magazine look and its content more individual.
