Evaluation Question 4 - What have you learned from your audience feedback ? by Mind Map: Evaluation Question 4 - What have you learned from your audience feedback ?

1. After checking out our rough cut during one of our editing sessions our teacher had given us feedback. She had advised us to use a more wider variety in shots as we were continuosly using mid shots. She had also suggested we use our artists at the very beginning so it was clear who our artist was. She also advised to add the acting scene earler on so that the audience could get the storyline and avoid confusion. Another great thing she had recommended us to do was only add the stage performance scenes during the chorus.

2. We also feedback from our target audience who advised us to re shoot the park scenes or change the scene to better shot as there was a clear mistake there. They also suggested we put on a filter to imply that it was a flashback. They told us to some camera shots were a little bit shaky too. Thye also recommended us to add more narrative shots.

3. From the feedback I had gotten about my ancillary products, for my website I was advised to maybe put captions under my images so that the audience are able to understand what each picture is about. Like to explain if something is behind the scenes or is a part of the music video. For my album cover i was told to keep as it is as if i would have added anything else i would have over worked it making it look quite messy. She also suggested making the image of Nana a little bit lighter as she felt it was too dark. However the dark theme is a part of our synergy.

4. Feedback was a very important aspect for all the stages in the production of our main product and our ancillary product as it helped improve and develop what we had so far.

5. In light of this feedback we had many changes to our music video in order for it to be perfect. We stated to put different types of shot rather than repeating the mid shots and we had also only kept the stage performance shot for the chorus as this kept it more organised and more appealing. We also changed the order of each scene in order for our audience to get a better understanding of the storyline. We also added a filter and used a colour gradient in order to get the sad and dark vibes. These audience feedback was very important as we wanted our target audience to understand what was going on and also we got a better understanding on what the audience wanted to see in it.

6. The audience reaction was quite successful as the audience were very supportive and cheering very loudly. This reaction implied that our main product, the music video, was successful. As we did not receive any critical feedback, personally what I would improve is putting in a wider variety of camera techniques and shot as we used many mid shots. Even though we did try and improve on this, this was still used the most. Also I would maybe colour correct the the greenery scenes as i felt those shots were too bright for the overall darkness of the music video. However what I have learned from the comments of my music video given by the audience was that the location we had chosen were a success implying that the locations went well with the genre of the artist as we chose quite isolated places to put emphasis on the sadness and heartbreak. Reflect back on this makes me see the music video in a new light as I am able to put definition and read between the lines, whilst watching my music video. Though the audience reaction at first was quite loud and cheerful but as the video carried on the audience had gone a little quieter implying that the audience had found the song and video interesting and relatable.
