2. Historical Criticism- Considers the time in which the work is written and set. Q: How did the events of WWII influence Lord of the Flies?
3. Psychoanalytical Criticism- Considers how characters are motivated (sometimes subconsciously). Q: Why does the Joker kill?
4. Feminist/Gender Criticism- Considers the gender roles in work. Q: How would SpongeBob act differently if he were a girl?
5. Cultural Criticism- Considers the important of race/ethnicity in the story. Q: What if Tituba were white?
6. Marxist Criticism- Considers the role of money or social status plays in a work. Q: What if Katnes were as wealthy as Pres. Snow?
