Article a/an

1. "A" The article A is used before singular, countable nouns which begin with consonant sounds.

1.2. He is a teacher.
1.3. She doesn't own a car.
1.4. I saw a bear at the zoo.
2. The article AN is used before singular, countable nouns which begin with vowel sounds.
2.1. Ejemplos
2.2. He is an actor.
2.3. She didn't get an invitation.
2.4. I saw an eagle at the zoo.
3. A and AN are called indefinite articles. "Indefinite" means "not specific". Use A(AN) when you are talking about a thing in general, NOT a specific thing.
3.1. Ejemplos
3.2. I need a phone. Not a specific phone, any phone.
3.3. Mark wants a bicycle. Not a particular bicycle, a bicycle in general.
3.4. Do you have a driver's license? In general.
