1. the growth of cities
1.1. urbanization occurred and more was happening in cities, which attracted more people
1.1.1. more jobs began to open up in the city, which needed less education
2. the production of more goods
2.1. more goods being produced meant more jobs were being opened up
2.2. new inventions were being created in order to make factories more productive
2.2.1. in 1705 Thomas Newcomen developed the steam engine, which kickstarted the mass production movement
