1. Cooper: Youtube

1.1. YouTube-Why Apple is refusing to unlock killer's iPhone. This source was a video clip. Its text structure was chronological. The purpose of this video clip is to inform viewers about evidence as to why Apple felt giving the FBI access to the killer's iPhone would be unbeneficial. An advantage of this source was that it had a lot of visuals because it was a video. A disadvantage was that you had to go back and rewatch some parts because you have to listen carefully.

2. Cooper: LA TImes

2.1. LA Times-Apple Wants the FBI to Reveal how it Hacked the San Bernardino Killer's iPhone. This source was an article. Its text structure was problem/solution. The purpose of this article is to inform about the struggle between Apple and the FBI. An advantage of this source was that it provided a lot of retainable information. A disadvantage of this source was that it did not incorporate many visuals.

3. Joel: Thomson Reuters

3.1. Thomson Reuters- "FBI's Secret Method of Unlocking iPhone may never reach Apple": The purpose of this source was to inform the reader about the method the FBI used to unlock the San Bernardino jihadist's iPhone and how this method may never be disclosed to Apple. The text structure used is Cause and Effect. The amount of content that can be conveyed in an article is definitely an advantage, but the lack of visual aids makes articles a bit less comprehensive. Overall, this source pushes a strong ethical argument but lacks in tangible evidence and specific examples

4. Joel: Arizona Central

4.1. Azcentral- "Ken Colburn: Can I 'FBI-proof' my iPhone": The purpose of this source was to inform viewers about the problems that would result if the government was given complete control over our devices. This source is a video and it was scripted in a Cause and Effect format. The advantage of having a video is that you can easily incorporate visual effects to help viewers grasp the what is being conveyed. A disadvantage of this format is that you cannot fit nearly as much content into a video as you can in an article and if you try to fit too much in, the viewer will not understand. In retrospect, the source provides a very great perspective and provides a solid case against government having this power, but it lacks in physical evidence to support the claims made.
