3.2. first official game was played between members of the Victoria Skating club.
3.2.1. It was a 5-team league. The first Stanley Cup was won by Montreal A.A.A.
3.2.2. The original 6 teams were Montreal Canadians, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Red Wings, and New York Rangers.
3.2.2.1. In 1967-68 nhl expanded and added 2 more teams, Edmonton Oilers, and New York islanders.
3.2.2.1.1. Since 1983, New York Islanders basically won the Stanley Cup by defence. They showed everyone that defence is key to winning.
3.2.2.1.2. Andrew "hamburglar" Hammond is known for bringing the Ottawa Senators to the playoffs. His goalie skills are unbelievable.
3.2.2.2. in 1920, Winnipeg Falcons won there first Allan cup.
