1. Structured Language Immersion

1.1. Receives instruction in English

1.2. Assignments are heavily structured with emphasis on English Language Develpoment

1.3. Objectives are used to clearly monitor where a student is supposed to progress

1.3.1. Evaluations with parents can be presented based on objectives that are incorporated

1.3.2. Students have a clear understanding of what the expectations are

1.4. Reliant on Collaboration with other teachers to monitor the student's progress

1.4.1. Standards are clear and agreed upon between teachers, administration and parents.

1.4.2. Curriculum is determined EL resource and general classroom teacher to verify it is grade appropriate

2. English Language Mainstream

2.1. Student receives education in the general classroom

2.2. Student also receives resources to further Language development

2.3. Objectives in the classroom are more heavily used

2.3.1. Comprehension based on English texts

2.3.2. Usage of Language benchmarks for all subjects in regards to Language (retelling, grammar, sentence structure)

2.4. Parents can request to have child moved to mainstream program at any time

2.4.1. Teachers must be on the same page where goals and benchmarks are concerned.

2.4.2. Addtional resources must still be utilized in order for the child to test out of the EL program
