Grandview Children's Center

1. Their goal is to strive to inspire possibilities for children and youth with special needs

2. Grandview Children's Centre and its education partner, Campbell Children's School, is the only children’s treatment centre in Durham Region providing expert pediatric treatment and rehabilitation services to over 5,000 children and youth with special needs and their families

2.1. Services offered include: medical services, ABA, speech-language, preschool outreach program, OT, social work, and rehabilitation and many more

3. Provide access to specialists, consultation and support for families

4. Vision: To build capacity in the community through information, knowledge exchange and consultation to professional and other organizations

5. Grandview Children's Centre serves children and youth with special needs under the age of 19 who live in Durham Region.  Eligibility is also aided by other information provided by parents.

5.1. Parents can also access the center and their programs through a referral from community agencies and doctors offices where the center has forms available.

6. The center addresses inclusion, equity, and diversity by tailoring the programs and services to suit the specific needs of the family and their child at that particular point in time.

6.1. The mode of the service delivered is based on the current goals and needs of the family/child

6.2. In addition to the way service is delivered, the frequency and duration of service may also change and evolve as life needs change

6.3. They provide assistance in identifying the financial assistance programs that are in place for programs and equipment required.

7. Within the services and programs listed above they also provide: assessment and monitoring of your child’s functional abilities, parent education sessions, individual or group-based therapy with a clinician or clinician assistant, home programming support consultation, and/or support for community integration

8. They assess, diagnose, prescribe and provide clinical treatment, specialized programs and therapies, and specialized equipment for children and youth with communication, physical or developmental needs
