Chemistry is everywhere by Mind Map: Chemistry is everywhere

1. What happened when we added bromothymol blue to the jar where the matches were burned?                         When we added the bromothymol the water vapor began to disappear and the sulfur was cleaned up What does that indicate to us?              That indicate us that it had a chemical reaction. How does this relate to your everyday life? It relates to my everyday life when I place oil on the stove it has a reaction when the heat touches the oil it starts to boil and create smoke

2. Water- I can relate what I saw when the teacher added the brothymol into the distilled water with a gatorade powder, when the teacher poured some drops of brothymol into the water it instantly had a reaction and change of color, when you add gatorade into the water it happens the same, it has a reaction and changes into a new color

3. Soil- I can relate the reaction of the soil because when the acid rain felt it started to boil and began to start to felt soft, when the rain starts to fall into the floor the soil begins to get dry and bubbles because it starts reacting

4. Air- I can relate what I saw with the reaction of the smoke when the blue jar was thrown into the big pipe with a car wash, because when they throw water and soap into the car the dirt begins to dissapear just as with the sulfur with the brothymol

5. Which of the substances in the jar are part of the resources we mentioned?  Destilated water and bromothymol blue solution.

6. What happened when the matches were burned? Explain                     When we lighted the matches they began to light up and to create fire and smoke.

7. Environment- I can relate this on real life because when acid rain starts falling the floor has a reaction, as we saw in the experiment the soil started to bubble because they had a chemical reaction, we experimented this today with a tube filled with soil and we added a unknown substance that caused this reaction.
