Bullying by Mind Map: Bullying

1. There are underlying cultural beliefs within students that if an individual is being bullied, they must be being bullied for a reason, so those who follow that belief simply ignore the situation and do not interfere in any manner.

2. A victim of bullying, especially in children, have the tendency to fall under the social guise of the victim of a bully, which are "nerds" or "losers" etc., and these kids who are forced into these social guises are for the most part alone and have no one to support them so they allow the fear mongering to be cultivated and simply submit to the bully.

3. The social role the bully falls under would be that of the "cool kid" or something akin to it. This position in the pecking order of students is a power hungry one and the bully sates his power lust by belittling those they feel are beneath them, sating their own self esteem and insecurities by harming another.

4. Bullying walks arms linked with social inequality. Bullying can originate from anything, which can include race, social class, gender and personal characteristics.

5. Race discrimination has diminished by a large statistic in the past few decades however, there are still those who believe it is just to discriminate against those of differing skin color. This cultivated hatred and disdain for racial differences is the origin of a decent amount of bullying incidents.

6. A social condition caused by bullying is the idea of dropping out of school. By allowing the fear mongering to grow the victim believes the only escape is to drop out of school to avoid their harasser.

7. Suicides among children and teens are mainly caused by bullying, with 4400 deaths a year attributed to it, with 14% of students contemplating it and 7% attempting it.

7.1. Racism

8. There are plenty of cultural biases surrounding bullying and some of them are not exactly positive. For instance, there are some parents who believe standing up to your bully is the only resolution of the issue, which can lead to further bullying and even assault.
