Comparing linear & quadratics
by jamal herbert
1. real world examples of linear equations consist of things like buying a 100$ iTunes card and buying songs 1$, 2$, and 5$ and then finding the relationship between number of songs I buy and how much is left on the card?
2. a linear equation is an equation between two variables that gives a straight line when plotted on a graph

5. a quadratic is a equation containing a single variable of a degree of 2. Its general form is ax 2 + bx + c = 0, where x is the variable and a, b, and c are constants (a ≠ 0).
6. quadratics are used in many situations/ real world examples like throwing a ball into the air and then figuring out how long it takes for the ball to hit the ground.
