1. 'Capitol Punishment can never be justified'
1.1. Arguments For:
1.1.1. Exodus 21:12; 'Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death.' - One of the crimes documented in the Bible where you could recieve the death penalty.
1.1.2. Exodus 21:13; 'Whoever steals a man, and found in possession of him, shall be put to death' - Another crime in the Bible worthy of the death penalty.
1.1.3. Leviticus 24:20; 'An eye fro an eye, tooth for a tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury shall suffer the same injury.'
1.1.4. Romans 13:1; 'Let every person be subject to the governing authorities.' - If the government thinks it is okay it can be done.
1.2. Arguments Against:
1.2.1. John 8:7; 'Let anyone among you without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.'
1.2.2. Matthew 6:14; 'If you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.' - It is better to forgive than to seek revenge.
1.2.3. Pope John Paul II; 'The death penalty can be used if there is no other option.' - As we can imprison someone for their entire life. We have another option. Especially as it is cheaper. So the death penalty can not be justified.
1.2.4. Agape; Agape is a church teaching to do the most loving thing. Killing someone no matter what they did is the most loving thing to do.
2. 'You should always stand up to unjust governments'
2.1. Arguments For:
2.1.1. Psalm 72:4; 'May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy and crush the oppressor.' - You should go against those that are doing wrong as the Bible commands it.
2.1.2. Job 5:15; 'But He saves from the sword of their mouth, And the poor from the hand of the mighty.' - Follow Gods example and help those to get justice.
2.1.3. Zechariah 7:10 '...and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.' - If someone does not obey God you must fight them.
2.2. Arguments Against:
2.2.1. Sacrament of Life; therefore putting your own life in danger may not be worth it.
2.2.2. Timothy 5:8; 'But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.' - Family must come first.
2.2.3. What is it worth fighting an unjust government? It is worth fighting and potentially risking your life? Fighting for equality is worth your life as Martin Luther King died for it. But would you die and fight for free health care?
