1. Society needs to feel protected. Appeals for offenders show them trust in the system; 'even if it's wrong the first time, they still have a chance to go again'

2. Cons: victims going through appeals process will have to live through their trauma again and again

3. An issue of accessibility due to expensive process

4. Appeals allow for victims to feel secure and get retribution

5. Appeals allow for the rights of offenders and providing equity

6. Allow for offenders to feel that they have a chance

7. Victims may feel that they're not achieving retribution
