According to Arthur (2009): “The first and most basic one is a technology is a means to fulfill a human purpose. … As a means, a technology may be a method or process or device… Or it may be complicated… Or it may be material… Or it may be nonmaterial. Whichever it is, it is always a means to carry out a human purpose.”. In short this quote defines technology as a way of helping us humans by serving a purpose to our needs and wants. Arthur also points out that technology can be material or non material implying that it is not just the typical circuits and futuristic gadgets you see but is embodied in a more larger aspect human creativity can push. As said by Ramey, 2013 "Technology is a body of knowledge devoted to creating tools, processing actions and extracting of materials.". This being said technology is an invention to create tools and create a beautiful result of ones artwork.
