We shouldn't live forever
by Olivia Johnston
1. Costs a lot of money
1.1. "The cost would range from $30,000 to $200,000. What if the treatment doesn’t even work, you could die the next day, and your family would have wasted all that money. For storage, the lowest cost is $28,000." ("Money Talks News" 1)
2. Very painful
2.1. Think about it, when you are about to die, you decided you wanted to live forever. You would probably have to go through more pain in getting the medicine, than the way you were dying. Who would want to go through all that pain to someday have to go through it again?
3. People don't even want it
3.1. "56% of people surveyed said they refused to take the medicine, if it even existed. They also refused to take the medicine if it only gave them a couple of decades longer to live. A more surprising outcome, only 4% of people said they would live past 120." ("Publishers Weekly" 1)
4. Population
4.1. "If babies continue to be born but no one dies, population growth-already straining Earth’s resources-will accelerate. Providing food, water, shelter, and education will be a huge challenge."(O'Neil 26)
